Head of Clinical Services (Clinical Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist) for disability services and assessment services, South east/South Central England. Salary 45K-50K DOE, Full time, Start Q4 2013.
A Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist is required by our client for their post of Head of Clinical Services, based in the South East/South Central England areas. This will be a full time permanent, field based position and as travel will be involved a car driver would be essential. (Company car allowance provided.)
Working in partnership with numerous Councils and Primary Care Trusts around the UK, the company provides the highest quality, flexible and individualised patient care. They specialise in supplying services including daily living aids, continence supplies and homecare products to help their residents live in their own homes.
The position will include strategic direction, clinical leadership, development and guidance of the professional clinical service for the company.
The successful candidate will lead all strategic clinical activities undertaken including clinical governance processes. They will be required to clinically oversee and provide guidance on the operational service, maintaining professional responsibility without compromising the service within a commercial environment. They will have a professional development responsibility for the team of Clinicians / Therapists within the Company and will ensure multi-disciplinary working is well established across the service continuing development of the clinical service both operationally and strategically.
Duties will include:
*Ensure they provide a holistic mobility service (children, young people and adults) via a team of qualified Therapists within each service across the UK
*Job shadow from time to time Lead Clinicians and Clinicians / Occupational Therapists to ensure that good clinical practice is adhered to
*Provide strategic direction on service and development of the service going forward
*Develop, introduce and oversee Clinical Governance framework
*Develop operational policies, procedures and practices for the service as appropriate ensuring that their contracts at all times complies with clinical governance principles and guidelines
*Work with their internal lead Therapists and Clinicians to identify clinical training needs which are identified as relevant for the service and for their own personal development
*Work closely at all times with other members of staff to ensure an efficient and effective service
*Represent the company at regional and national events
Requirements:
Strong clinical governance experience and the ability to demonstrate examples of clinical governance in practice are essential. You will ideally have a professional qualification from a physiotherapist or occupational therapy background with wheel chair assessment experience.
You must be flexible to travel and overnight stays for work purposes to carry out your duties in the Midlands and South East of the UK. You will ideally live in the South East/South Central UK for easy accessibility to company offices.
