Each month JustPhysio would like to recognise one of our locums for their personal achievement and commitment to the Physiotherapy Service!
Name: Leah Dalby
Profession: Physiotherapy
Where are you from? England
Current Locum position?
Senior Physio working with the Breast Surgery Team
What do you enjoy about your job?
Seeing patients throughout their journey – pre and post op, MDT clinics, 1:1 and working with women with chronic problems from breast surgery, perhaps more than a decade ago. I work in a friendly hospital with a supportive Manager who trusts me. I love oncology and palliative care, so feel very fortunate to be able to be working in this area as a locum. Also my interest in GMI gives me pause for thought with patients having e.g. lat dorsi reconstructions.
Personal achievements within your role?
Getting the information and advice leaflets done – so glad for the help with the photography and patient teaching about how to use “Publisher!!”
How do you unwind from work?
Walking by the sea.
Being still with Friends at the local Quaker Meeting.
If you were stranded on a desert island what 3 items would you take?
1.)If it can be people, then family, friends and lover.
2.)If it can be practical, then, cool fresh water, walking boots and tent.
3.)If it’s luxuries, then my favourite pillow, a good moisturiser and An Equal Music by Vickram Seth.
