Locum in the Spotlight October

Monday 17th October 2011

Each month JustPhysio would like to recognise one of our locums for their personal achievement and commitment to the Physiotherapy service.

Name: Stacey Dangen

Profession: Physiotherapist

Where are you from? Auckland, New Zealand

Current Locum position?
Band 6 Musculoskeletal Outpatients Physiotherapist

What do you like about your job?
Mostly it’s about the people I get to meet. I have enjoyed meeting lots of different patients with such diverse cultural backgrounds and enjoy learning about them. I also love the people I work with. Over the years I have met some amazing people and some have become my closest friends. I think work would be completely different if I hadn’t have met those people.

Personal achievement’s within your role?
Personally I get satisfaction from being able to make a difference to someone’s quality of life through physiotherapy. Whether it’s helping someone to complete everyday household tasks to being able to return to sport or just being a compassionate ear to listen to their problems, I enjoy being able to help those people and potentially make a difference.

How do you unwind from work?
I love catching up with my friends either over coffee or a drink or two at home or at the local pub. Like most people I also like to travel to see new and exciting places. I especially love going to countries where I’m able to swim or lie on the beach and soak in the sunshine.
