Personal achievements within the role?
Working as a locum has really improved my flexibility skills, being able to work on any ward short notice and covering a variety of caseloads. This has enhanced my knowledge in all the different areas of physiotherapy, and given me ideas for further service improvement in other hospitals.

What do you enjoy about being a locum?
I really enjoy the flexibility of locum work and being able to travel as often as I can. I have recently travelled around South East Asia which I would not have been able to do on a full time contract.
I also enjoy working on a variety of different wards and hospitals, which has helped me to decide where I would like to specialise in the future.

Most memorable moment within your career?
I previously worked for a falls group and we threw a party for the Queens Royal Jubilee. The patients and staff alike all dressed up and we played games and had tea and cake etc. The local press were invited and came and took pictures, and it was really nice to see the patients so excited and having fun. One patient wrote a letter afterwards to say it was the most fun he had had in a very long time, and he was aching for the next week obviously using muscles he had never used before!

If you were stranded on a desert island what 3 items would you take?
1.) Snorkel
2.) iPod and speakers
3.) Dairy milk fruit and nut!
