Each month JustPhysio would like to recognise one of our locums for their personal achievement and commitment to the Physiotherapy Service!
Name: Stephanie Geraghty
Profession: Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist
Where are you from? New Zealand (Tauranga)
Current Locum position? Out-Patients Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist
Personal achievements within the role?
Wk 6 - adapting to the NHS system very quickly. Ability to easily adapt and work with a larger scale of patient injuries from neurological conditions to chronic pain syndrome. I have previously focused on sports physiotherapy.
What do you enjoy about being a locum?
Locuming is great in the sense that you are always adapting to different environments, meeting new people and having flexibility with placement location and time frames. Of course having the ability to set aside holidays easier and more frequently is a bonus when living on the doorstep to Europe!
Most memorable moment within your career?
Walking out of the door from my final Physiotherapy exam at University. Feeling ridiculously happy and celebrating with an amazing group of friends I had spent the last four years with!
If you were stranded on a desert island what 3 items would you take?
1.) Boyfriend (does that count as an item) ha
2.) Water
3.) Garlic bread
