Salary £27-£38,000 DOE, this Physiotherapy job is based within in a SEN school in Gillingham Kent. The school is currently recruiting for a physiotherapist to join their MDT to work with physical and learning disabled children. The school caters for 150 pupil’s ages ranging from 3-19.
Your job purpose –
• To assess, treat and manage own specialist caseload of pupils and maintain associated records.
• To assess for, develop, implement and enhance comprehensive Physiotherapy programmes to enable pupils to achieve maximum independence in daily living skills (by either increasing or maintaining independent functioning).
• To train and support school staff and participate in appropriate specialist training to develop own skills.
• To advise and provide clinical support to other therapists/staff on Physiotherapy issues, across the timetable and curriculum.
• To supervise the work of assistants, students and other staff working with the postholder and to provide practice placements for Physiotherapy students.
• To provide total commitment to the safeguarding of pupils.
To be considered for this position you must have –
• Proven post graduate experience.
• Experience working with patients with complex needs.
• A broad range of experience including paediatric and community work.
• Experience of audit in specialist area and demonstration of a sound understanding of quality issues.
• Undertaken/evaluation of practice/work based projects and initiated change.
• Currently be registered with the HCPC.
• Interest in, and enthusiasm for, working with pupils with special educational needs
• An understanding of the needs of pupils with SLD
