Justphysio is recruiting for an MSK physiotherapist to work for a private clinic based in Bedfordshire.
The clinic specialises in treating a variety areas including Osteopathy, Physiotherapy and Pilates classes.
You will be required -
To provide a high standard physiotherapy service to a variety of patients referred to the Clinic, predominately musculoskeletal patients and patients with orthopaedic conditions.
To provide high standard of physiotherapy assessment and treatment using the biopsychosocial approach to patients with a variety of conditions, as an autonomous practitioner.
To provide a clinical diagnosis and to develop and deliver an individualized treatment program, as an autonomous practitioner. Self management tools should be identified, discussed and followed up with the patient.
To be legally and professionally responsible for a high-level clinical caseload of musculoskeletal patients as an autonomous practitioner.
Liaise with the principal practitioner and other senior practitioners regarding the patient management as necessary.
3. SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES
A. Clinical
To be professionally and legally accountable and responsible for all aspects of own work including the management of patients in own care.
To work without direct clinical supervision.
To work without agreed protocols for treatment using advanced clinical reasoning skills and following best evidence based practice.
Liaise with the clinic to organize own caseload.
Obtain a thorough history from the patient and perform assessments using
investigative and analytical skills in order to formulate an accurate diagnosis. This will include the use of observational and manual skills.
To determine and modify treatment plans for patients utilizing a range of treatment skills and options including some specialist techniques (e.g. education, manual techniques, acupuncture, electrotherapy).
To organize and lead exercise classes for multiNpathology patients, including those with musculoskeletal and orthopaedic problems.
To coordinate interventions to enhance patient care which may include other disciplines e.g. Osteopathy, Acupuncture, Podiatry, Pilates and Exercise instructor.
To communicate with patient, carers and other health professionals to maximize rehabilitation potential and ensure an understanding of condition is gained.
To be skilled in the use of communication skills, including persuasion, motivation and explanation to encourage patients to undertake their treatment program.
To explain all interventions to the patient in such a way as to gain informed consent for treatment and to motivate them to undertake a treatment program, which might involve radical changes in the way, they view their condition and lifestyle.

To manage clinical risk within own patient caseload.
Work within the clinic and CSP guidelines, to have a good working knowledge of national and local standards in order to monitor own and others quality of practice as appropriate.
To maintain accurate and comprehensive patient treatment records in line with Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP) standards of practice.
To be responsible for the safe and competent use of all electrotherapy equipment, gym equipment and patient appliances and aids supplied to patients by self.
To frequently provide advice both spontaneous and planned, teaching and instruction to relatives, carers and other professionals to promote understanding of the aims of physiotherapy and to ensure a consistent approach to patient care.
Any other appropriate duty as requested by the Principal Physiotherapy Practitioner.
B. PROFESSIONAL
To evaluate own work and patient satisfaction via audit.
Maintain own skills through CPD, according to CSP guidelines and maintain a portfolio, which reflects personal development. Maintain and develop current knowledge of evidencebased practice in areas or work relevant to post and those identified as required in personal development plan.
Participate in appraisal scheme and be responsible for complying with agreed personal development plans to meet set knowledge and competencies.
Actively involved in in-service training sessions organized at The Clinic by attendance, participation, feedback of external courses and peer review.
Maintain membership to a relevant clinical/special interest group.

To be fully conversant and competent in administrative tasks such as patient bookings and modifying appointments on private practice software, charging patients and taking payments , arranging appointments by phone as well as general administration required to provide a seamless service for the patients.
